What to expect with an Ashlaren puppy
Ashlaren Weimaraners are very proud of our 40 year reputation of consistently producing high quality puppies as proven in our exceptional record of top winning show dogs in Australia and overseas over the past decades. Before buying a puppy we recommend you ask any breeder these questions before you commit, so you can understand how and where the puppies are raised.

Is the breeder registered with the controlling state body (Dogs NSW, Dogs Vic, Dogs SA, etc)
Can the breeder provide health clearances for their dogs?
Can the breeder provide the parents pedigree and breeding?
How are the puppies raised?
Do the puppies live inside or outside?
How are the puppies socialised?

Puppy Information Pack
When it’s nearly time to pick up your puppy, Ashlaren Weimaraners will provide you with an everything you need to know pack on how to care for and look after your new puppy in the early stages.

Vaccinated, Microchipped & Registered
All our puppies are vaccinated at 6 weeks, microchipped and registered with Dogs NSW before going to their new homes. The puppy pack will explain when their next vaccination is due & we are happy to discuss changing registration to another state if required.

If you ever have questions or concerns with your dog, or need to rehome your Weimaraner, we ask that your first get in contact with Ashalren Weimaraners so we can assist you along the way.
FAQs & what to expect living with a Weimaraner

Weimaraner’s are high energy dogs and therefore need their daily exercise. Daily physical and mental stimulation is encouraged to ensure your Weimaraners needs are met and they do not turn to undesired behaviours to fulfil their own needs.

Weimaraners are a very intelligent breed and learn quickly. We encourage owners to take their puppy to puppy school and continue with dog behaviour training so you can teach them good behaviours so they don’t learn un-desired ones! Weimaraners love to please their owners and given the opportunity will love to show you just how much they can learn.

Yes, Weimaraners make good family dogs, however like all dogs, appropriate training and supervision is required to ensure both dog and children are comfortable. Our Weimaraners have always been good around children however we recommend that dogs and children should not be left unsupervised.

Yes, like most dogs, Weimaraners will shed their coat. While their coat is short a good brush and a good bath helps to remove excess hair.
Exercise time with Weimaraners
Whatever you choose to do, walking, running, bush hikes, or a throw of the ball at the beach, your Weimaraner will LOVE spending that outdoor time with you.

The Whelan family now have their second Ashlaren Weimaraner Lola to accompany Max.
Lola and Max get away from suburban Sydney and spend most weekends on their acerage property in the Southern Highlands so there will be lots to keep them both occupied whenever they visit there.

Ashlaren Lady Tally Of Sydney - "Tally"
What a lucky puppy Tally is to have finally met her long awaited puppy owners, Anne Jones and family, who live in Hong Kong.
After numerous phone calls and emails, Tally has finally arrived in Hong Kong to the loving Jones family. It sure looks as though she has adjusted well after her long flight from Australia and I am sure Tally will love every minute of living with the Jones family!
Tally is sired by Multi International Champion Ashlaren Caipiroska and her dam is Graysville A Work Of Art (IMP NZ) whose mother is NZ Ch Ashlaren Cezanne.

Gunther & Echo in SA
It wasn’t long after this family brought home Gunther (Neut. Ch. Ashlaren Lord Gunter SWN TD) from Ashlaren, that they decided they would add Echo (Aust. Ch Ashlaren Echo In The Field SWN TDX) to their family about 18 months later.
Since then, these four have undertaken so many adventures together and have obtained titles in both conformation and performance sports.
These two Weis are a much loved part of the family. -

Ashlaren Petite Charlotte
The Hanson family of Wollongong recently lost their first Weimaraner that they got from us many years ago and now have just introduced Charlie (Ashlaren Petite Charlotte) to their family.
I am sure Charlie is much loved already!

Coco the Wei & Possum the Cat
We are often asked if Weimaraners and cats get along with each other... well I guess this photo of Coco (Ashlaren Ava The Aussie) and Possum the cat, both owned by Lauren St Clair of Scone NSW does prove a point as these two are inseparable mates.
While it is not wise to introduce a cat to an older Weimaraner if they are brought up together when the Weimaraner is a baby puppy they can become best mates.
