Show Dogs Overseas

Through our interest in Weimaraners, we have met many Weimaraner enthusiasts around the world and have exported our dogs to other countries to like minded breeders for the show ring and to others as just loveable companions. Here are just a few photos of special dogs and special friends around the world...

In Hong Kong, Aust Ch Ashlaren Bronte was imported by Weimaraner enthusiasts - ex British patriots, Gail Zobrist and Fiona Overton and French Veterinarian, Dr Miriam Ete. They formed a syndicate and have established Bayweis Ashlaren - a new name in Weimaraners in the ex British colony. Bronte's pup Enzo, whose sire is Am/Can/Aust Ch Ashlaren Mark of Ashlaren (Imp Canada), was born in Hong Kong and will soon begin his show career there. Pictured is Bronte on the heights that overlook the beautiful beach that is on the doorstep of her new home where she lives with Gail and her husband, John, and their children. What a great life Bronte has there!

Champion Des Guerriers D'Argent born 20th Oct 2007, is another one of Oska's progeny winning in Europe. His titles include: Baltic Champion Lithuanian Champion Estonian Champion Latvian Champion Belarus Champion Belarus Winner 2009 Baltic Winner 2009 Estonian Winner 2009 Latvian Winner 2009 Lithuanian Junior Winner 2009 Baltic Junior Champion Lithuanian Junior Champion Estonian Junior Champion Latvian Junior Champion 2 x Best in Show 4, 2x Best in Show 5 9 x Best in group 1, 7 x Best in group 2, 8 Cacibs and he is only 2 years old!!

Pictured here is Paulina Walkowska of Imperium Star Weimaraners, Poland, taking time out from a show held in Estonia where she was showing Multi European Ch Ashlaren Caipiroska -'Oska'. Paulina and Oska have been a formidable team on the European show circuits and Oska is a multi European Best in Show winner! We know that Paulina will deeply miss Oska when he returns to Australia in January, 2009 and we sincerely thank Paulina for campaigning Oska to so many championship titles in Europe and for the wonderful home Paulina and Kristoffer gave Oska during the three years he was with their family.

NZ Ch Ashlaren Cezanne -'Emmie'- is the love of Wendy Barber's (of Graysville Weimaraners, NZ) life! 'Emmie' is a great show dog just like her litter brother, Aust Ch Ashlaren Reuben, who is the sire of Best in Show winning progeny.

Ashlaren Weimaraners have a close associaton with Jim and Karen Gibson of Zilverein Weimaraners in Ireland. We have imported semen from multi Best in Show winner, Am/Ir/Eng Show Ch Rivenwil Alabama Slammer ('Ally') see photo. Ally's daughter - Ashlaren Xahra - ('Xahra') is a successful result of Ally's frozen semen mated to Aust Ch Ashlaren Saba Jewel. Xahra won Best of Breed from Junior Class on the first day of the 2008 International Spring Fair Dog Show in Sydney. Xahra is handled by co owner, Trish Miller of Sydney. Recently semen from Aust Ch Ashlaren Reuben was sent to Zilverein Weimaraners in Ireland so we will look forward to the planned matings using Reuben's frozen semen in 2009 and seeing his progeny in the show rings of Ireland, Scotland and England!

Polish Junior Ch, German Junior Ch, Luxemburg Junior Ch Ashlaren Imperium Star, ('Sophie') is owned and handled by Paulina Walkowska of the well known Imperium Star Weimaraner kennels in Poland. Sophie has had an impressive show and hunting career in Europe since arriving in Europe from Australia. (Photo taken at the World Dog Show Weimaraner Championship Show, Sweden, 2008 where Sophie won Intermediate Bitch class against competition from all over Europe.)

NZ Ch Ashlaren Queen of Hearts (Imp Aust) -'Halley'- is owned by Cyd Welsh of Greyflyte Weimaraners in Wanganui, NZ. In this photo, 'Halley', aged just 12 months, is seen winning Reserve Best in Show at a North Island Weimaraner Specialty Show judged by international judge, Mr Frank Kane (UK). More recently, Ashlaren have imported Greyflyte Queen's Angeldust AI -'Ellie'- from Greyflyte Weimaraners. Ellie is sired by frozen semen from our Multi European Ch Ashlaren Caipiroska and Halley is her mother. Thank you Cyd for sending Ellie back to Oz to be one of our show team! Ellie is co owned by Ashlaren and Jim Delaney and Danny Boskovski of Somerford Weimaraners, Australia.

Patryca Ruskinski of Talamasca Kennels in Poland came across from Poland to Sweden to show Sophie and Oska at the World Dog Show, July 2008. Thanks Patryca for your excellent handling of both Sophie and Oska and for showing Oska to win 2008 Reserve World Winner at the World Dog Show, Stockholm! It was wonderful sharing the fun of this huge event with you and Camilla!

Both Rolf and Pernilla breed Weimaraners that excel in both the field and show ring and we congratulate them on their many successes they have achieved and thank them for their wonderful hospitality to us on our visits to Sweden in 2006 and 2008!

At the World Dog Show held in Stockholm, Sweden in 2008, we met Dario Raimondi of Royal Weim di Casa Raimondi Weimaraners, Italy. We were very impressed with Dario's lovely Weimaraners and the photo shows his Weimaraners winning Best Brace at the World Dog Show in Sweden, beating entrants from all over Europe! Dario will be campaigning a female sired by our Aust Ch /Multi European Ch Ashlaren Caipiroska ('Oska') in Italy and also at other shows in Europe in 2009. The new addition to his kennel is coming from Imperium Star Kennels in Poland where Oska has lived for the past three years.

Dario Raimondi and Massimiliano Zegna Baruffa of Italy have bred some stunning Weimaraners. This kennel is soon to have puppies sired by our Muliti European and Aust Champion, Ashlaren Caipiroska (Oska's last litter he sired before he headed home to Australia). We will look forward to seeing the progeny in the show rings of Italy and other European countries in the future.

We stayed with our friends, Jessica and Tony who live on the beautiful island of Hawaii, in May 2008, on our way to the American Weimaraner Nationals held in Rhode Island, USA. Thank you Jessica and Tony for showing us the true beauty of Hawaii...it was a very special time for us! Jessica and Tony have had three Ashlaren Weimaraners sent to them from Australia over the years.

Rani (Ashlaren Headturner) is owned by Nichole Fox in Dubai. Rani is 10 years old! She has all the cool home comforts, out of the hot desert sun, and of course, she loves sitting on her favourite couch!
